Welcome to the website of Cricket Uruguay

The Uruguayan side came second out of 8 sides in the 2018 South American Championships in Colombia. A remarkable achievement that the players can be proud of. The vision of Cricket Uruguay is to build on the good work already underway to develop the game in Uruguay. The next steps include:

  • The purchase and use of an artificial Flicx wicket that can be used to play hard ball cricket.
  • Increasing the number of players involved by teaching the game to those interested in schools and the wider community both male and female.
  • Working towards achieving associate ICC status as achieved by 6 of the sides at this years SACC
  • To encourage touring sides to visit Uruguay.

Agentina vs Uruguay – 150th Anniversary

Uruguay and Argentina played two 20/20 matches on the 16th of December at the Belgrano AC club in Buenos Aires to mark the 150th Anniversary of the first fixture back in 1868. It is hoped that this will be an annual event and that Uruguay will be able to host an Argentine side for the first time in many years.

Uruguay secure runners up spot in The South American Cricket Championship 2023

Uruguay secured runners up ahead of Colombia, Mexico, Brasil,Peru, Panama and Chile. The Semi final was a win over Mexico, before a defeat in the final to hosts Argentina

In August the team travelled to Colombia and secured 2nd place in the 8 team South American Cricket Championships, pipped by Mexico they finished ahead of Costa Rica, Colombia, Peru, Argentina “A”, Brazil and Chile.
